European Transparency Initiative
The European Transparency Initiative (ETI), launched by Administration and Anti-Fraud Commissioner Siim Kallas in November 2005, aims to impose new standards of transparency on the European institutions and the areas in which lobby groups and civil society organisations operate. In particular, a more structured framework regarding the activities of interest representatives is in the process of being put in place. This could transform the environment within the activities of all external parties involved in the European decision making process (both directly and indirectly) take place.
